Call to Worship - Jeanie Barnes

We have one life, a gift from our God,

One God whom we know as one in three:

Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

May we live our life for God by loving others.

As we come into this time of worship, let’s turn our focus to God.

Seeking forgiveness, doing justice, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Now we come to worship

Now we give thanks and praise to God.  Amen.

Commissioning of Mission Team to Honduras - Ginny Ellis & Jeanie Barnes

TO CONGREGATION: Will you lift up our Mission Team in prayer as they travel, holding them in God’s care, entrusting their work and their witness to the heart of God? WE WILL

We now commission our Mission Team for this work:

God, Creator of this earth and all its people, on this Trinity Sunday we prepare to send forth some of our beloved people to be your hands, feet, voices and hearts in Honduras, a place far away, but dear to this church.

We thank you for their willingness to go and serve in that beautiful and special place.

Son of God, Savior and Friend, we lift these our brothers and sisters up for your special care.  We know that you have called them to this journey, even as you called the twelve, as you called leaders throughout the life of the church, and as you have called each of us to follow you.

In coming days, as they travel, we ask your blessing on them.

Holy Spirit, Giver of Comfort, Wisdom, and Encouragement, we ask the gift of your fire and your breath, your wisdom and strength in the days of this Honduras mission.

Holy Trinity, travel with this team, let them be a blessing for the world, for the people of Honduras and for our church, and bring them safely home, filled with joy and hope for your people, your church and your world.  AMEN.

Great Prayer of Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Hymn 552  LAND OF REST

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

…In awe and wonder we proclaim the mystery of Faith:

Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.

…Let us pray together:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
