Call to Worship - Megan McMillan

The voice of God resounds upon the waters. / The Spirit of the Lord hovers over the streams.

The Son of God is named “Beloved.” / And all who worship shout out “Glory!”

Ascribe to the Lord majesty and Strength. / Let us worship God in the holy splendor of this day.

Unison Prayer of the Day - Megan McMillan

You hear our prayers, dear Lord: those we whisper at home, those we pray fervently aloud; those prayers we offer here at worship in times of silence, or together in formal moments. Help us to learn to listen as we pray, to hear your quiet voice speaking to us, calling to us to follow where you lead. Help us to see the grace with which you meet us, even when we do not expect it. For forgiveness and healing, for comfort, for the faith community carrying us through times of crisis, for the welcome we can extend in your own name to adults and children, to strangers and friends; for the chance to worship here as your own people: we give you our deep and heartfelt thanks. In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

Affirmation of Faith - Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
