Call to Worship - Megan McMillan

To a society that sees so many shadows of doubt and fear / God calls us to be light.

To a world where every appetite is fed until there is no real taste for life / God calls us to be salt.

To a time when loyalties can be fleeting / God calls us to be faithful.

Let us sing how we know this wonderful God, the one who calls us.

Hymn #32: “I Sing the Mighty Power of God” ELLACOMBE

Call to Reconciliation - Rev. Ginny Ellis

It seems so simple: to make a sandwich for the hungry, to open our ears to hear the crying child, to advocate to change unjust laws. These could be ways we are called to worship God. Let us confess the ways our worship and our service fall short. Join me as we pray together:

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

We admit, Creator of all, that we find too few ways to house the homeless or feed the hungry. We struggle to find ways to influence legislators toward justice for all colors and shapes and languages of people. By your showing us the bush that is burning but not consumed, help us to hear your message and boldly move toward freeing the captives, healing the sick and broken, repairing shattered dreams. Help us move toward filling the emptiness of our world with peace, the shalom you intend for all. (Silence is kept.)

Assurance of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

God hears our prayers and comes to sweeten bitterness with hope, to break through despair with shafts of mercy, to forgive whatever leaves us in distress

We will share this good news! We will praise God’s name from the joy that breaks forth from inside us. Forgiven in Christ: we are new, we are free! We live in hope!

Passing of the Peace - The peace of Christ be with you / And also with you
