Call to Worship - Ginny Ellis
Jesus led them up to a high mountain. / There he was transfigured before them.
A voice came from the cloud, saying / “This is my Son whom I love. Listen to Him!”
In this sanctuary, this safe and holy place / We come to see the face of Jesus, and to listen to him.
Let us worship our God as we sing together.
Hymn #41: “O Worship the King, All Glorious Above!” LYONS
Prayer of the Day - Rev. Jeanie Barnes
When you could stay hidden behind your glory, O God, you send Jesus to show us your heart. When you could remain silent for all time, you whisper your hopes to us in every moment. You transform everyday events into miracles of awe. You text-message joy into the emptiness of our souls. You are holy. Transform us today through our worship. Let us live to serve you. Amen.
Passing of the Peace: The peace of Christ be with you / And also with you
Response #620: “Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven” verse 1 LAUDA ANIMA
Praise my soul, the King of Heaven; to God's feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, evermore God's praises sing.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise the everlasting king.
