Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

Morning Prayer - Ginny Ellis

God of the ages, you call the church to keep watch in the world and to discern the signs of the times.  Grant us the wisdom which your Spirit bestows, that with courage we may proclaim your prophetic word, and complete the work that you have set before us; through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen.

Great Prayer of Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Therefore, with choirs of angels and the whole company of heaven we lift our hearts in joyful praise:

Hymn 552                                                                                                                                       LAND OF REST

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

…Therefore in remembrance of your mighty acts in Jesus Christ we take this bread and this cup as we proclaim the mystery of Faith:  Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.

Hear us as we pray today, using the words that Jesus taught his disciples, for we are bold to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Send us now into the world in peace, and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
