Call to Worship From the Iona Abbey Worship Book  - Ginny Ellis

Sing aloud and rejoice, clap your hands, raise your voice,
For with unnerving choice God in love has found us.
and God displays around us power to speak and heal,
       Grace to know what’s real.
Come. Let us praise our God.

Processional Hymn #667: “When Morning Gilds the Skies” LAUDES DOMINI

Call to Reconciliation - Ginny Ellis

If we claim to be without sin or fault, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  But when we come to God in prayer, our God is faithful and just and forgives us as we ask. Let us come in prayer.

Unison Prayer for Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

Merciful God, you promise forgiveness and new life, making each and all of us part of the body of Christ. Still sometimes even in our family or in the church we allow people to be hurt, disregarded, left behind.  We know this is wrong; we know that it hurts us all. Remind us today of your promise to make us into a new creation.  Forgive us and help us forgive one another so that we can live as you would have us live, one body, loved and loving.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance:  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.  Jesus took our sins into his body on the cross so that we might be dead to sin and alive to all that is good. Friends, believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

Passing of the Peace - Ginny Ellis

Since God has forgiven us in Jeus Christ, let us learn to forgive one another, whenever there is need. The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. / And also with you.

to the healing of creation through justice.
We dedicate our gifts to the community, the mission, and the hopes of this church,

and to the abundant, extravagant, all-embracing reign of God

which our faith can glimpse even here and now.

We dedicate ourselves as servants of Jesus, with all that we have and all that we are.

Hymn 552  LAND OF REST

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

…Therefore in remembrance of your mighty acts in Jesus Christ we take this bread and this cup as we proclaim the mystery of Faith: Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.

Hear us as we pray today, using the words that Jesus taught his disciples, for we are bold to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Send us now into the world in peace, and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
