Call to Worship - Megan McMillan

From the very beginning, God calls us.

God sets us apart with a meaning and a purpose.

We come up with excuses to avoid our calls, for we are afraid.

But God reassures us in many and various ways through the course of our days

Even if we are brought to the edge of a cliff God is with us and sustains us.

It is this God we worship even today. Join together, as we worship.

Hymn #687: “Our God Our Help in Ages Past” ST. ANNE

Call to Reconciliation - Rev. Ginny Ellis

Born the children of God, and called to serve our God, nonetheless we fall short of what we have been created to be and do.  Let us come to admit our shortcomings and receive again the forgiveness that is ours in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

God, our deliverer, we are often too reluctant to speak and live according to your truth. We are too comfortable with the way things are, condoning injustice, fearing to speak up. Forgive us when we are timid disciples, making our choices out of fear, shame or comfort.  Fill us, instead, with love, vision and courage, that we may be humble, patient and kind, but also bold.  Enable us to speak the words you call us to say and walk the paths you call us to walk. And forgive us when we falter.

Assurance of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

God has loved us from the beginning and God’s love for us will never end.  Do not fear, therefore, but have faith in God’s steadfast love, God’s healing power and God’s ability to make all things new. Friends, believe the Good News! In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!
