Call to Worship - Dawn Conti
Praise God for the wonders of creation: the moon and stars, the birds of the air, and beasts of the field.
O God, our God, how majestic is your name.
You have created all things an proclaim all things good. You have created each one of us and proclaim that we are good.
O God, our God, how majestic is your name.
Be present with us now in all your wonderful ways!
Hymn # 667: “When Morning Gilds the Skies” LAUDES DOMINI
Call to Reconciliation - Rev. Megan McMillan
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sin, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith, let us confess our sins together before God and one another:
Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Megan McMillan
Creator God, you have brought the world into being and created each of us in your image. We confess that we have not cared for your world as we should. We have neglected ourselves and each other. We have squandered the resources of the world you created. You ask us to “mend our ways, agree with one another, and live in peace.” Yet we continue to hold grudges and thrive on divisiveness rather than peace. Forgive us God and strengthen us to honor your creation and creatures. Give us courage to follow Jesus and share the good news of your love for all. In the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness - Megan McMillan
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ. And Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Yet, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. (Rom. 8:34; 2 Cor. 5:17) Friends, believe the good news of the gospel: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven, freed and made whole! Thanks be to God.
