Call to Worship - Patrice Hatley

Let us be called to the worship of God and let us pray. Almighty God, You pour out the spirit of grace and supplication on all who desire it.

Deliver us from cold hearts and wandering thoughts, that with steady minds and burning zeal we may worship you in spirit and truth.

Almighty God, we pray for your blessing on the church in this place.

Here may the faithful find salvation, and the careless be awakened.

Here may the doubting find faith, and the anxious be encouraged.

Here may the tempted find help, and the sorrowful comfort.

Here may the weary find rest and the strong be renewed.

God of Grace, fill us with your Spirit, that we may celebrate your glory and worship you in spirit and truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Hymn #265: “Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun” DUKE STREET

Call to Reconciliation - Robin Lyle

Let us willingly embrace that which we believe is true - we can come to the seat of grace, bringing our prayers of confession to the One who is filled to overflowing with mercy and hope. Let us turn again to our God of abundant grace and ready mercy.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Robin Lyle

We stand before you, Saving God, stripped of our pretensions and pride, for nothing we do or say, or do not, can be hidden from you. You hear the angry words we preach to ourselves; you sift through the rubble of hurts we have caused; you see how we stumble, weighed down by all that 'stuff' which keeps us from following Jesus.

We stand before you, Holy Grace. As you empty our hands of that wealth of unneeded things we cling so tightly to, fill them with your grace and hope. As we let go of all which might hold us back, give us the trust to follow Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, into that life with which he offers to each of us. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness - Robin Lyle

Our God is always a step ahead of us, calling us to grow in the gift of our forgiveness made available to us in Christ. Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, freed and made whole. Thanks be to God. Amen.
