Call to Worship - Ginny Ellis

Say among the nations, The Lord reigns.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice!

The Lord is coming to judge the earth.

God will judge the world with righteousness and truth.

So, let us worship God with praise and honor.

Hymn #336: “We Gather Together” KREMSER

Call to Reconciliation - Ginny Ellis

The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Because we have faith in Christ, we dare to approach God with confidence. In faith and penitence, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

Merciful God, in Jesus, our risen Lord, we have seen your glory. Yet our sinfulness often blocks out the light of Christ. We are quick to accuse and slow to confess. We find faults easily in others while ignoring our own shortcomings. We have squandered your gifts. We have turned from your ways -- we have ignored your Word. Have mercy on us, compassionate God. Pour out your Holy Spirit on our sinful lives. Wash us with your love and cleanse us day by day so that we might move closer to the people you would have us be. By your mercy, forgive our sins. By your grace, free us to try again. Silence is kept. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness - Ginny Ellis

Remember the promise Apostle Paul declares: “What will separate us from the love of Christ? Hardship? Distress? Peril or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through the God who loves us. Let us rejoice that, no matter what is happening around us, no matter what we have done, God’s deep love will never let us go.” Friends, hear the Good News of the Gospel: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, freed and made whole! Thanks be to God!

Passing of the Peace

Prayer for Illumination - Robin Lyle

O God, your thoughts are not our thoughts, your ways are not our ways. So, guide us by your Word and Spirit, and open our minds and hearts to your truth, speaking through the scriptures. By that truth, may our thoughts and our ways become a greater reflection of yours. Amen.
