Call to Worship

Sing aloud and rejoice, clap your hands, raise your voice,

For with unnerving choice God in love has found us.

God displays around us power to speak and heal,

Grace to know what’s real.

Come.  Let us praise our God.

Hymn #396 “Brethren, We Have Met to Worship”  HOLY MANNA

Call to Reconciliation - Rev. Megan McMillian

My brothers and sisters, not out of dread and fear, but believing that God is faithful to forgive, let us rid ourselves of what we can no longer carry.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness

Lord God, your power and love are beyond our imagining.  We know that when we fear the future we do not hold faith in your providence.  So today, in this place, we entrust ourselves, those we love, the church, and the world once again in your care. Forgive us the tendency to want to take control.  Help us to give our fears to you and trust enough to leave them in your keeping.   May your Spirit fill us with the faith we need each day.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people.  Once we were no people but now we are God's People.  Once we had not received mercy, but now we have received mercy.  Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel:  In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, freed and made whole! Thanks be to God!
