PNC Update - June 2024

The PNC gave an update to our congregation at both worship services last Sunday, June 16.

Pastor Nominating Committee Members: Co-Chairs Bryan Bardin and Kirby Volz; Don Doddridge, Gretchen Letterman, April Hussung, Lynne Mormino, and Annie Zeurcher.

We are honored to be entrusted with this sacred responsibility and we are so excited about our work. We call on the Holy Spirit to guide us at every step! With the help of your prayers, we believe we are being led by God to find the best next pastor to shepherd First Presbyterian Church.

You've read about the early steps of the process on our website or in First News. Through the Church Leadership Connection system of the Presbyterian Church, FPC is being matched via computer algorithm with potential applicants to explore. In addition, interested applicants themselves can see our church's information and refer themselves to us. The third way candidates are coming to us for consideration is suggestions by church members and friends. All told, the PNC is fortunate to have 75 names so far to pray over, and names keep pouring in.

We are approaching the stage of initial Zoom interviews with a few particularly strong applicants whose resumes, faith experiences, and visions have caught our eyes (and hearts). As we proceed with these first-level conversations, we also will continue to screen new candidates.

We are grateful for God's grace, and your prayers, patience and love for First Presbyterian on this important journey. We ask that you keep those prayers coming. Many thanks.
