Morning Prayer and Lighting of the Peace Candle - Dave Hunt

… Let us join in the unison prayer of the day:

Eternal God. protector of all who put their trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, grant real peace to this world and to your people. Fill us with your mercy and your grace so that, with your rule and your guidance, we may use the good things of this present life but not neglect those things of eternal worth. We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

It is our prayer today, O God, that your vision may be found in us as we bring our gifts for the work of the church and its ministries. Make of us a dedicated and eager people, ready to encounter the challenges that you set before us.  And above all else, shape our dreams and our gifts to please and serve you, for we are yours.  In Christ's name we pray.
