Unison Prayer of Confession - Jeanie Barnes
Holy God, Father of Jesus, forgive our lack of respect and attention as your son enters this most painful of weeks. We, like the disciples, fall asleep when Jesus asks us to stay awake and pray. Our minds wander he sets his path straight for Jerusalem to speak truth to power on our behalf. We are careless with our faith, while Jesus acts with extraordinary love. Forgive our apathy and our inattention. Remind us, this Holy Week, of the salvation and wholeness you offer in Jesus Christ. Let us not take this gracious gift for granted. Amen.

Hymn #552:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
…So we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.
…Hear us now as we are bold to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
