Welcome & Announcements - Rev. Ginny Ellis

Call to Worship - Ginny Ellis

To a society that lives in the shadowed recesses of doubt and fear,

God calls us to be light.

To a world where every appetite is fed until there is no taste to life,

God calls us to be salt.

To a time when loyalties are discarded as easily as the clothes we wear,

God calls us to be faithful.

Let us worship God.

Hymn #377: “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light”  HOUSTON

Unison Prayer of Confession - Ginny Ellis

O God, we are your people, but we are far from perfect. As long as loneliness, poverty, and pain exist, we know we have work to do. Still we do not know how best to reach out to each other or to you. Our sin holds us back. Help us, O Lord, move beyond bondage of sin and truly be your children together. Silence is observed. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.

Assurance of Pardon - Ginny Ellis

God has heard our prayers and comes to us to sweeten our bitterness with hope - to shatter our darkness with the light of mercy.

We will share this good news without being ordered to do so. We will praise God's name because we want to! Thanks be to God! Amen.

Passing of the Peace - Ginny Ellis

Be at peace with God, with yourself, and with one another.

The peace of Christ be with you. / And also with you.

Response #620: “Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven” verse 1 LAUDA ANIMA

Praise my soul, the King of Heaven; to God's feet thy tribute bring; Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, evermore God's praises sing. Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise the everlasting king.

Hymn 552 LAND OF REST

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The Words of Institution, The Communion of the People, Prayer of Thanksgiving

Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit to give ourselves for others in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
