Christ, you call us here to meet you, as through word and song and prayer we affirm your promised presence.  We praise you as one who keeps promises. We praise you who call us your friends. We praise you who hear and care about our hopes and fears.  Christ, you call us to baptismal font and to your holy table.  Bring us to this common meeting place where we can worship in spirit and in truth, where we can stand before you in our hopes and our fears, where we can know you love us. In your holy name we pray.  Amen.

Affirmation of Faith - Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Presentation of our Gifts – Invitation and Prayer - Sandi Averitt

Please join me in responsive prayer of dedication:

O God, we dedicate our gifts today to the preaching of Jesus' good news for the world, to glorifying God in song, to leading each child to the knowledge of God's love.
We dedicate our gifts to the mending of broken spirits, to caring for the poor, to the healing of creation through justice.
We dedicate our gifts to the community, the mission, and the hopes of this church, and to the abundant, extravagant, all-embracing reign of God which our faith can glimpse even here and now.
We dedicate ourselves as servants of Jesus, with all that we have and all that we are.  Amen and Amen.

Invitation

Great Prayer of Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you. / Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. / Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

…as we join the unending hymn.

Hymn 552: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

God of Mercy…. for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Great is the mystery of Faith:

Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.

Faithful God…. Amen.

Now, Gracious God, with the confidence of beloved Children, we are bold to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The Words of Institution

The Communion of the People

Mighty God, we thank you for gathering us at your table and feeding us with the bread of life. As we now leave this table to go to the many places where you send us, send your Spirit with us, that we may share in your magnificent work: lifting up those who are laid low, showing mercy to all in need of human kindness, and feeding the bodies and hearts of all who are hungry, in the name of one who comes; even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
