Hymn #336: “We Gather Together” KREMSER

Unison Prayer of Confession - Rev. Ginny Ellis

Lord, we confess we don’t know how to say “thank you” for splendor, for a cool breeze on a hot, humid day, for a warm embrace of reassurance, for freedom to decide about tomorrow. Lord, we confess we don’t know how to say “thank you” for pain, for tears after failure, for a truth broken, for a love not returned. We’d rather say: “take back your gift.” Lord, we confess we don’t know how to say “thank you” for the dance of life. Forgive us. Help us, O Giving God. Give us hearts for deep gratitude. (Silence). Amen.

Assurance of Pardon and Passing of the Peace - Ginny Ellis

There is a grace that every dawn reveals. A loveliness making every morning fresh. We will endure, we will prevail — we the children of Hope, children of the One who crowds the heavens with stars, endows the earth with glory, and fills the minds with wonder! Friends, trust the good news of the gospel! In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another. The Peace of Christ be with you all. And also with you.

Response #71 Refrain FIRST SONG

Surely it is God who saves me, I will trust and not be afraid.
For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure defense and God will be my Savior.

(Children, please come forward to the front pew during the singing of the refrain above)
