Call to Worship - Megan McMillan

Before the earth was formed, we were chosen by God to be God’s people.
God gathers us together that we might sing of joy and hope, as God's beloved.
Before the stars glittered in the night sky, we were chosen through Christ to be God’s family.
Christ gathers us together that we might carol the good news of redemption.
Before the rivers flowed to the seas, we were chosen by the Spirit to serve creation.
The Spirit gathers us together that we might dance in the fields of peace with our siblings in Christ.

Hymn #363: “Rejoice, the Lord Is King!” DARWALL’S 148th

Call to Reconciliation - Megan McMillan

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sin, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us of our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and in faith, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Megan McMillan

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. “Please offer your silent confessions to the Lord at this time.” (wait 1 minute) Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness - Megan McMillan

Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ. And Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us. Yet, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life is gone and a new life has begun. Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, freed and made whole. Thanks be to God. Amen.
